PostHeaderIcon Review & Giveaway: Poo-Pourri Jr.

With two in diapers, we do what we can not to let our home smell like a diaper pail. We use a Diaper Champ with a baking soda disk in the bottom and scented bags. We spray it out with Lysol between bag changes. We also take the stinkers straight to the outdoor garbage can. Still, sometimes the scent of wet diapers lingers in the nursery. Poo-Pourri Jr. has helped eliminate that lingering

I also wanted to share with you my tips on saving money on your vitamin purchases:

If you buy Nature’s Bounty or Nature Made vitamins at the grocery store or drug store, be sure to try this vitamin-buying strategy to save more than 50% on every bottle.

Gather coupons. The best source of coupons is the Sunday ad insert. But you can also print coupons and coupons will come with your free samples. There was a $1 coupon for Nature’s Bounty in the Jan. 4 Red Plum insert. You’ll also find vitamin coupons in the blinkie machines in the grocery store aisles, and printing out as Catalina coupons at the register. Sometimes you’ll even find them inside the packaging, so keep your eyes peeled!

Only buy vitamins when they are on sale for “Buy One Get One Free”.
These sales happen on a regular basis at several stores (Kroger and CVS in my area) and the best way to find out when they happen is to read the weekly store sales flier. Also look for vitamins on clearance, but be sure to check the expiration dates. I typically see vitamins that are clearanced out because of a change in packaging and they are nowhere near their expiration date. You can still use manufacturer’s coupons on those clearance vitamins.

When you buy two bottles, use two manufacturer’s coupons. You can use one coupon for each product purchased regardless of what the store’s sale promotion is. That’s because the manufacturer is giving you the coupon savings, and the store is giving you the sale price savings.

Join the Nature’s Bounty Healthy Rewards and the Nature Made Wellness Rewards programs so that you earn points for every bottle of vitamins purchased. Those points add up fast and will gain you money-saving coupons to use on future purchases. These are higher value coupons (think almost a free bottle) than you can get from any other source. Just remember to log in and enter your codes to earn your rewards.

Save your coupons until there is a “Buy One Get One Free” sale. When you get that high-value coupon by redeeming your rewards points, hold onto it until there is a “Buy One Get One Free” sale and keep increasing your savings on your vitamin purchases.

**********************************************************************************
If you are buying other brands of vitamins you can still save money by timing your purchases to take advantage of sales and coupons at the same time to double-up on your savings.

PostHeaderIcon Free Glidden Paint

Order your free quart of Glidden paint in the color of your choice. Their website is very slow, but some of my readers are successfully submitting their form today. I just filled out the form online and successfully submitted it. You can also order it by calling 1-800-GLIDDEN thanks to a tip from Mama Cheaps.

You should receive your free quart of Eggshell paint in about 3 to 4 weeks. This promotion is while supplies last, and I’m not sure how many quarts they are mailing out. I ordered Pineapple Upside Down Cake to paint an accent wall in our guest bedroom. You will receive a confirmation by email when your form is successfully submitted.

I was thrilled when I was offered the opportunity to review the FreeAgent Go for Mac which Seagate recently released.Depending on your needs, the

PostHeaderIcon What happened?

Sorry, I’ve been on a bit of an unexpected blogging break. I think I’ve posted twice in the past 2 weeks. And those have only been my Weekly Recaps of savings and earnings. Oops.

I’ve been quite busy with my two little ones. My youngest at a year and a half has really taken a liking to climbing. So I now spend half the day chasing after him and pulling him down from standing and jumping on the furniture. It doesn’t help that my 3 year old encourages him greatly.

Oh, and I’ve also been quite busy with surveys. Any other online survey takers getting a large amount of surveys in their inbox lately? They seem to come in a never ending train. Of course, I don’t need to complete each and every one, but I’m trying to do as many as possible to earn more cash because I’m trying to pay down debts and beef up our savings.

I’m working hard at that, not only because we need to, but also because I really want to move. And of course, moving costs money. And this is not any old move. We’re talking from NJ to possibly GA, SC or NC. We’ll see. So I’ve also been spending way too much time browsing real estate in each of those areas.

During my little blogging break I also took a little weekend trip to the shore. We had an awesome time and the kids LOVED playing on the beach. The next time you’re at the beach with little ones, I highly recommend this…

Dig a giganto whole in the sand, just deep enough so that the water comes up from the ground. It keeps the kids contained and thoroughly entertained. They splashed around in there for HOURS… two days in a row!

Ohhh, and another reason for my absence. I joined PaperBack Swap and I LOVE it. I’m getting rid of old books that were laying around and collecting dust and I’ve gotten some great books to read in return.

So I’ve been hiding behind a few books and only occasionally peeking up at the computer to look at just a few more houses… and maybe throwing some toys and/or food towards the kids in the hopes that they’ll let me keep reading for just a bit more.

Ok, so wow. Yea that’s alot of excuses. And I can keep throwing them out there. Like about how my kids both came down with the coxsackie virus and were horribly weak and feverish for a few days. Thankfully, they seem to be over it and are back to their usual wild selves.

Anyway, I’ll be getting back into regular posting. Sorry to be gone so long and sorry for this very long-winded explanation.
